Start 2021 off strong and with a plan. Have you thought about your goal yet? Have you written it down in SMART format? If not, go back to the last post and start writing. If so, you’re one step closer to smashing that goal! Read on my friends!

.

Now, it’s important to write a couple shorter term goals that you can use as steps to accomplish along the way. These short term goals will help to create a framework for you (and successes to celebrate!) as you develop your action plan.

.

Think through… What do I need to do along the way to accomplish my goal? What steps do I need to take to get there? How will I measure my progress along the way? Once you think through some of these things, write down 2-3 shorter term goals in the same SMART format, making sure they are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time based.

.

For example, if my long term goal centers around losing weight then one example of a short term goal would be: “I will workout 5 days per week consistently by the end of month 1”. Another short term goal might be “I will track my nutrition in My Fitness Pal every day consistently by the end of month 1”.

.

Feel free to revisit your goals as often as you wish. Sometimes even the best laid plans need revision. You may also want to add to your short term goals along the way to keep the momentum going!

.

Happy goal setting everyone! Let’s all set the stage for a successful end to 2020 and beginning of 2021!
